Lead Engineer
The role will be managing all the topside engineering aspects involved in the preparation of the Brown field modification tender documentation on behalf of Premier Oil.
The Topsides Project Engineering Lead will be initially located at Premier Oil office and later will move to EPCI contractor’s design office. Responsibilities including:
Verify the Topsides Process Requirement and Major Equipment Specifications.
Make sure the design and operating philosophies are consistent with project objectives.
Work with other team members to define, place orders for Long Leads
Manage all inter disciplinary and inter departmental Interfaces for all design issues
Define Tender evaluation criteria for Topside Design, Engineering, and Equipment.
Review Topside facilities Scope and Specification and check for consistency and completeness.
Review Topsides Evaluation Criteria
Review and compile ITB Documents a required
Coordinate and manage the responses for all Topsides technical questions from bidder’s
Ensure development and implementation of management of change procedure and support cost and schedule control processes and reporting.
Manage all facets of detailed engineering to support fabrication, load out, transportation, installation hook-up and commissioning of cantilever deck extensions and the compression equipment
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with contracting strategies, reliability, Gas turbine driven compression packages, materials & corrosion, electric switch gear, structural, static and rotating mechanical equipment, instrumentation and controls.
To organise, control and check the inter-discipline co-ordination with other sections Departments on the Project.
To make the necessary technical arbitration between the different disciplines in case of conflict interests and keep all parties informed.
Report to Project Manager regularly and when decisions with an impact on the strategy of the Project are needed.
Contribute to optimization of shut down durations, flaring and installation strategies
Ensure effective and timely response to all technical queries, technical documents and verify compliance with set standards, company specifications and safety procedures.
To verify and validate design studies for topsides produced by contractor.
Engineering degree required with 15 to 20 plus years of upstream oil and gas development experience with a strong bias towards offshore gas platform topsides and jacket design, fabrication, installation planning, and commissioning experience on major projects.
Extensive, multi-disciplinary project engineering, management, and site supervision experience.
Experience in all aspects of design, construction and commissioning of process instrumentation and control systems, and fire and gas systems from conceptual engineering through start-up including: front and engineering;
Work history demonstrates successful execution of varied projects for both major contractors and operators.
