Philips Healthcare Cardio Vascular is involved with developing X-ray equipment for heart and coronary diseases. One of the resource departments is the Mechanics department. Employees from this department are placed within different component development groups: among others Positioning, Collimators, Basic Components.
We are looking for mechanical designers for the component development Group: "Basic Components".
Within the component group Basic Components the following components can be found: Monitor Ceiling Suspension, User Interface Modules, Cabinets. These components are mostly being created by suppliers. The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the mechanical design within these projects. Next to these activities analyzing field and/or quality problems or supporting/reviewing work of mechanical engineers within Basic Components are also part of your responsibilities.
Description
In this role we expect the Mechanical Designer to collect and document the requirements concerning the mechanical design. He negotiates the technical aspects with the suppliers who will develop the product/part. He is responsible for the quality of the design internally and externally during development. Internally he is capable of delegating the development to engineers. The designer is capable of setting achievable goals and able to plan, track and communicate these goals. Because the amount of outsourcing is high it is important that the designer has great communicative skills and a pro-active mindset.
Requirements
- Experience with Pro-e (or a finished pro-e course, combined with experience with
Unigraphics)
- Strong communicative skills, able to communicate clearly with suppliers and engineers,
speaks English and preferably also German.
- Workload management (able to plan, assess and execute own work, but also able to
assess this for the engineers.
- Bachelor or Master
- Some years of experience as a mechanical designer/engineer
- Having strong communicative skills is more important than technical depth.
This position might also be suitable for starters
Preferably with some working experience though – please state clearly what relevant working experience a candidate has
Salary indication: 2100 – 2500 Euros a month (gross)
